Professor Seth Cohen Co-founder of Biotech Startup

A newly established biopharmaceutical company in Burlingame, Calif. that will develop novel cancer therapies has been co-founded by Chemistry and Biochemistry Professor Seth Cohen. Called Cleave Biosciences (<a href=http://www.cleavebio.com/ >http://www.cleavebio.com/</a>), the new company was established by Cohen and two other scientific co-founders Raymond Deshaies and Francesco Parlati. The company was founded in part on Cohens work on metalloprotein inhibitors at U.C. San Diego (<a href=http://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/newsrel/science/smetalloproteases.asp >http://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/newsrel/science/smetalloproteases.asp</a>) and, in collaboration with Deshaies at Caltech, has developed lead compounds for novel cancer targets.
