Professor Charles Perrin appointed to the Murray Goodman Endowed Chair

We are proud to announce that Distinguished Professor Charles L. Perrin has been named the inaugural holder of the Murray Goodman Endowed Chair in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Established in 2004, it was the 101st endowed chair at UCSD. Professor Perrin was chosen for his research efforts, teaching qualities, committee participation and public service. His research record is characterized by fundamental studies of exceptional quality and rigor that broadly impact all areas of science including bioorganic chemistry. His interaction with students and colleagues has earned him the admiration of his peers worldwide. The Chair was created in honor of Professor Murray Goodman, since deceased, who was one of the top scientists in the world carrying out research on peptides and peptidiomimetics.
