Joshua Figueroa to Receive NSF Award for Special Creativity
Professor Joshua Figueroa has been awarded a 2021 NSF Special Creativity Award by the National Science Foundation Chemical Synthesis Program (CHE-SYN). The rare and prestigious Special Creativity Award, which is initiated by NSF Program Officers, recognizes unusually creative research accomplishments by a principal investigator. Recipients receive an automatic two-year extension of an existing NSF award to continue high-risk research at the forefront of their field. Professor Figueroa is being recognized for his pioneering investigations into the synthesis and reactivity of low-coordinate metal isocyanide compounds.
